Posterous, your personal 'RSS Magazine' creator

I have just recently started really reading my subscriptions (Posterous blogs). I still only have like 7 subscriptions at the moment, but the once I have selected, handpicked, I like. Posterous then emails you on a daily basis (can be changed by the user) the updates on these subscriptions. So, every day I get the latest posts on the blogs I have subscribed too and I really like this way of reading news.

So, I have thought about some things to improve this service:

  • My daily blogs, also available through RSS
  • Find new blogs:  Searching them based on category
  • Filter Daily blogs: by category

I think these features will enhance the experience even more and it will allow Posterous to grow their content in a more structured way, which will most likely attract new readers and in the process, new users.

The service is still young, I know that. It could well be that some of this is allready being discussed. If not, these might be some features to think about. Comments are open to agree/disagree.

I've stopped reading the Digg RSS feeds

I have been reading Digg for quite some time now. Being able to get RSS feeds on all the topics they have is great, but last few weeks this reading experience has turned sour due to the fact that they display ads in most of their feeds. In the feeds, Digg? If I click an article link I first land on that page at Digg, where they also have ads, so.. that's two ads on one link! That's just being stupid.

Digg is out of here! So.. time to find some alternative's:

I have been using Mixx for some time and it's good. If the would just open their links in the same window it would be even better. Still, they seem to become my new number 1. I used to also read Technorati, but they are restructuring their page/feeds. Hm, I also heard about Guy Kawasaki's Alltop..

If someone has some other suggestions, let me know!
